Biography

Dr. Nathaly Fernanda Maldonado Taipe is a faculty member in the College of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), Ecuador, where she teaches in the Biotechnology Engineering program. She trained as an Agricultural Engineer at the Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Ecuador, and earned a Master's degree in Agrogenomics and a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from the University of Kiel, Germany. Her expertise covers genetics, plant breeding, plant biotechnology and omics technologies. She has led projects on molecular marker development for soybean and cannabis, phytoremediation, and the conservation of Amazonian species.
